Lake Gaston Chat and Chew was born from a simple idea: a place on the water where neighbors gather, stories are swapped, and nobody leaves hungry. Owner Barry Ashworth set out to build more than a restaurant — a genuine lakeside table for the whole community.

From crispy catfish and hickory-smoked BBQ to homemade banana pudding, every plate is made from scratch with the kind of care you'd expect from Southern kitchens. Pull up a chair, grab a sweet tea, and stay a while — that's what the “chat” is for.

We're proudly located in Bracey, VA, just minutes from Lake Gaston. Our grand opening is set for April 2027, and we can't wait to feed you.
